89% of student nurses choose to work in our hospitals
Over the last three years 89% of their 238 student nurses have continued working with the Trust once their education is finished.
This is a big improvement on 2011 when the trust only retained 46 of the 69 students that started the course.

Hide AdLinda Whitfield, head of workforce education at the Trust, said: “The importance of recruiting and then retaining younger nurses cannot be stressed enough.
“The country’s health and social care workforce has a high proportion of older employees, in particular one in three NHS community nurses who are ages 50 or older.
“For this reason, retaining 9 out of 10 student nurses ensures our future workforce has the right numbers, skills, values and behavious to meet society’s needs now, and in the future.”
