Mother-of-six Yvonne Carter has taken on a marathon challenge.

For the 65-year-old retired NHS Ward Sister is completing the 2.6 challenge by donning her trainers and running 754 laps around her lawn (seven laps is 400 metres). Running 26.2miles in her garden is no mean feat for Yvonne, who is a member of the Ribble Valley Marie Curie Fundraising Group. She hasn't ran long distances since the age of 20!

She explained: "I was a member of a local running club in my early twenties, but I haven't ran since."
